Summer Camp Island ((TOP))
The series follows the adventures of Oscar and his best friend, Hedgehog, who have just been dropped off at their first summer camp. Away from their parents, the two quickly learn that Summer Camp Island is not a normal summer camp: the counselors are witches, horses become unicorns, and monsters live under the bed. Not all camps offer the opportunity to swim with a talking shark in the swimming pool, crawl under the bed into a different universe, or make friends with the moon, but Oscar and Hedgehog do their best to navigate the mysteries and wonders of this magical place and make their stay worthwhile.
Summer Camp Island
Each week of camp will provide educational games and activities centered around that sessions theme. In addition to weekly music and science classes, students will also participate in Zumba, yoga, arts and crafts and much much more! Each week will feature either an optional field trip (for incoming 3rd Graders and up) and/or a guest speaker, as well as an outdoor Water Days throughout the summer!
Oscar Peltzer Voiced by: Justin Felbinger (pilot), Elliott Smith (Season One), Asher Bishop (Season Two), Antonio Corbo (Season Three-)A mildly neurotic elephant and Hedgehog's BFF. His magical identity is a Glow Worm. Adaptational Nationality: Is British in his original iteration. In both the pilot and the series he's an American Jew (though his dad is still British).
Ambiguously Jewish: He has a Jewish last name, and his mother has the stereotypical Jewish Mother personality and voice.
Audience Surrogate: He's the POV character and the one asking most of the questions.
Book Dumb: A mild example. Although Oscar is not generally presented as unintelligent, he seems to have some trouble with reading and spelling, as mentioned in "Pajamas Party" and "Midnight Quittance".
Everyone Has Standards: In "It's My Party", while he doesn't like Susie, he believes no one deserves to be alone on their birthday, even if it is Susie. This is because no one, including Hedgehog who had other plans, attended his fifth birthday party.
Fatal Flaw: His dependency on Hedgehog. They both spend so much time together that he starts relying on Hedgehog to do most of the work, and he often needs her to tell him what to do. His need for Hedgehog drives him to do reckless things to ensure that their friendship will never be broken. Susie notices this and tries to separate them in "Susie's Fantastical Scavenger Hunt".

Informed Species: Oscar was confused for a tapir by fans until Word of God clarified otherwise. In-universe, guesses go even further off the mark: in "Popular Banana Split", both Cinnamon Raisin Toast and a group of marshmallows think he's a potato.
The Klutz: Oscar is always bumping into things, to the point where several of the other campers made a sign counting down how many days have passed since Oscar last collided with the scenery. The default is "0".
Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy: Oscar is this with Hedgehog.
Momma's Boy: He's shown to be this in the pilot and official first episode. Susie to Oscar: I especially don't want to hear from you. (mockingly) Mommy's special little guy.
Nervous Wreck: He gets nervous often.
Nice Guy: Easily one of the nicest campers on the island.
Platonic Life-Partners: He and Hedgehog are very close.
Red Oni, Blue Oni: Red to Hedgehog's blue, as seen in "Fuzzy Pink Time Babies".
Stop Helping Me!: Despite his good intentions when attempting to fix things between him and Hedgehog, he tends to make things worse and doesn't understand that she just wants her space. This is lampshaded in "Campers Above the Bed" and serves as a plot point in "Radio Silence".
Toilet Humor: After taking a medicine, he got rid of the gas from the pies he ate in a pie eating context through farting.
Vocal Evolution: His voice starts sounding a little deeper in Season 2, likely due to his voice actor hitting puberty. This was undone once his original voice actor got replaced.
Hedgehog Voiced by: Ashley Boettcher (pilot), Oona Laurence (series)Oscar's best friend and the more outgoing of the two. I'll leave you to guess her species... Her magical identity is both a witch and a werewolf. Abusive Parents: A fairly low-key example. In "Fuzzy Pink Time Babies", Hedgehog's father Jim forces her to enrol in business camp, despite the fact that this would tear her away from Oscar. Hedgehog is reduced to tears at this prospect and eventually has to tell her father to back off. Meanwhile, in "Momsoon", Hedgehog's mother calls in on Hedgehog's radio show to harangue her about how Hedgehog is not living up to her ridiculously high standards. Hedgehog reacts by asserting her autonomy as a separate individual. It's made clear that Hedgehog's parents want her to be successful, but their methods leave their daughter extremely unhappy.
The Ace: Despite being normal with no magic powers like the counselors, she's slightly better than anyone else in any other activity.
Boyish Short Hair: Adds to her Viewer Gender Confusion.
A Dog Named "Dog": Hedgehog is a hedgehog. Notably, she's the only camper who has this kind of name. On that note...
Dub Name Change: ...her name varies depending on the language being spoken; it's "Scricciola" in the Italian dub, for instance. This is a play on "riccio", the Italian word for "hedgehog". Other dubs are more direct, such as the Spanish version, which gives her name as "Erizo" - literally, "hedgehog". Some dubs, e.g. the German one, don't translate her name.
Generation Xerox: She resembles her mother, who also wears a cone hat; her mother's hat is black.
Informed Species: She's supposed to be a hedgehog but looks more like an alpaca or a weasel. Lampshaded somewhat in "Monster Visit" when the monsters' Godmonster misidentifies Hedgehog as a rat.
Lady Looks Like a Dude: Hedgehog has a deep voice, tomboyish demeanor and a lack of stereotypically feminine features, which are offset somewhat by her skirt. Even then, this isn't enough to clue some in; in "The Library", resident dragon Stuart addresses Hedgehog as 'sir'.
Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy: She's this with Oscar.
Metalhead: She's revealed to be this in "Campers Above the Bed", particularly to yeti metal. It's a way for her to get her aggression out.
Odd Name Out: She's the only main character to be named after her species.
One of the Boys: She's a tomboy who mostly hangs around boys.
Our Werewolves Are Different: Hedgehog becomes a werewolf in the aptly-titled episode "Hedgehog Werewolf", and by the end of the episode she chooses to remain so.
Platonic Life-Partners: She and Oscar are very close. In "Midnight Quittance", their friendship is shown to last well into old age.
Quirky Girl, Quirky Tux: Hedgehog wears one to the food prom in "Popular Banana Split", along with some barrettes.

According to her diary, she let one rip during leapfrogging with Oscar.
On a local firefighter's fundraiser's pancake breakfast, after she contracted Oscar's strange curse (of how bad things will happen to him if he doesn't eat before 9 am), she let out an insanely loud and long fart everyone at the breakfast heard.

The Baby of the Bunch: Pepper is the youngest male among the main campers. Word of God has revealed that his age is nine, though this is upped to ten in "Pepper and the Fog".
Expy: Of Linus van Pelt from Peanuts.
Hidden Depths: Pepper shows in-depth knowledge of art theory in "Puff Paint" and is shown to love reading in "The Library".
Pandaing to the Audience: As evidenced by his species and "cute" demeanor.

Sleepyhead: He is usually seen taking a nap whenever he is present.
Lucy Thompson Voiced by: Indie LemethA female horse and camper. Her magical identity is a yeti. Bookworm: She's usually seen reading books.
Deadpan Snarker: She usually makes snarky comments about the matter of the moment.
Expy: Has a slightly similar facial appearance to the Read family from Arthur. She's even got Arthur's glasses and DW's hairstyle.
Tomboy and Girly Girl: Seems to be the girly girl to Alexa's tomboy.
Lem Mongello Voiced by: Daphne Thomas (Season One), Mattea Quin (Season Two-Four)The younger sister of Alexa. She snuck into the camp with a fake invitation, and is the only camper without a magical identity. The Baby of the Bunch: She's the youngest female and the overall youngest among the main campers. Word of God has revealed that her age is five.
Girlish Pigtails: Fitting, since she's the youngest of the group.
Tomboy and Girly Girl: She's the girly girl to her big sister Alexa's tomboy.
